Established in 1906, the Racing Club de Lens – commonly known as the RCL – is the city's iconic football club. Just like its players, the club's supporters are nicknamed "Blood and Gold", and are known for their immense passion.
The "RC Louvre" exhibition retraces the history of the club alongside that of the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, located next to the museum and visible from the Glass pavilion. The exhibition will also present objects and testimonials from RC Lens, brought together from a collection organised in collaboration with the Louvre-Lens and the Nice National Sports Museum. This association forms part of the events accompanying the UEFA Euro 2016, for which Lens and Nice will be host cities.
