The EXILES – Artist perspectives exhibition (from 25 September) will remain open, as will the other spaces of the museum, for the duration of the renovation work.

The park
The park is open every day:
1 May to 31 October, 7am to 9pm.
1 November to 30 April, 8am to 7pm.

GETTING TO THE MUSEUM - PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Train, car, plane, bus, bicycle, landscaped footpath . . . The Louvre-Lens is easy to reach!

TRAINS

Lens station is serviced every day by several trains connecting Lens directly to Paris (1 hour 10 minutes), Lille (40 minutes), Arras (16 minutes) or even London (2 hours by Eurostar and TER connection from Lille).

Travel to the Louvre-Lens with TER trains using the Pass Louvre-Lens and get a free return ticket and a reduced fare on temporary exhibitions (9€ instead of 11€, free for under 18s). Valid in the Hauts de France region only.

ON FOOT

The Louvre-Lens museum can be reached on foot from Lens train station or city centre in 20 to 25 minutes, through the landscaped footpath.

BUS

The museum is served by Tadao, the bus network of Lens-Liévin, Hénin-Carvin and Béthune-Bruay.

WITH ROUTE B1:

Get off at the ‘Parc Louvre-Lens’ stop (600 metres walk from the museum). The route through the park is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, but the 41 bus line is recommended. The B1 line connects the museum directly to Lens train station every 8 minutes. PLEASE NOTE: it is not recommended to get off at the ‘Liévin Louvre-Lens’ stop, which is over 1 km from the museum.

WITH ROUTE 41:

Get off at the ‘Louvre-Lens’ stop, rue Paul Bert (200 metres from the museum by foot). This itinerary is recommended for people with reduced mobility. The 41 line connects the museum directly to Lens train station with 1 to 2 buses per hour.

BIKES

Cyclists are welcome in the Museum Park, where there is a bicycle rack.

The city of Lens is accessible via the A21 motorway, which is itself linked to the A1 – E17 (Lille-Paris) and A26 – E15 (Calais-Reims) motorways. The museum is reachable by car in :

  • 30 minutes from Lille
  • 1 h 30 from the Côte d’Opale coastline
  • 2 hours from Paris by motorway
  • 1 h 30 from Brussels
  • 3 h 30 from London (motorways and Channel Tunnel)

The Louvre-Lens museum is next door to the Bollaert-Delelis stadium and traffic can be heavy on days when there are football matches. It is recommended to park in the Jean Jaurès car park, on the Liévin side, rather than in the Paul Bert car park on the Lens side.

To enhance your visit, use the Louvre-Lens audioguide, it is free of charge and download-free!

This tool enables you to prepare your visit, find your way around the museum and park, and listen to audio commentaries by exhibition curators. It also offers a fun tour for children to follow.

New : if you do not wish to use your own smartphone, you can now loan a device with headphones for 2€.

LIBRARY SERVICES

The on-site library is open to all free of charge and offers workstations for up to six people with Internet access and free wifi.

It follows the same opening schedule as the museum: 10am-6pm daily, except on Tuesdays and on select holidays.
