2024 marked the beginning of a new chapter in the museum’s history. More than 10 years since it was inaugurated, the Gallery of Time – the heart of the Louvre-Lens museum, and a symbol of its identity – has been renewed and expanded.

This exhibition assembles over 200 hundred works of art, including paintings, sculptures, clothing, haute-couture creations, drawings, photographs and videos, from the Renaissance to the present day. It reinforces just how much artists themselves contribute to the history of clothing, but also how fashion designers from Yves Saint Laurent to Christian Dior have sought inspiration from art history.
