The Regional Council, contracting authority
for the Louvre-Lens project, has assigned the construction of the new museum to its
assistant general management team in
charge of regional project
management. Assistant general manager Bernard Masset heads the steering
committee with the assistance of Gilles Pette, who oversees the "Louvre-Lens mission". Major project manager Didier Personne and his assistant
Thierry Dillies supervise the technical aspects of the project. Culture manager Isabelle Laforce, and Elvire Percheron, culture
project leader for the President of the Regional Council, are also closely
involved in the project.
Given the importance of the operation, the Regional
Council has appointed a representative,
the semi-public company Adevia, partnered by H4
Valorisation, a subsidiary of the EDF group. Major project manager Jean-Luc
Desprez, Alice Haesaert and Jean Bernier, project leaders at Artois Développement, are working
full-time on the Louvre-Lens project.
The Louvre-Lens delegation at the Louvre itself is responsible for the overall steering of the project. Project manager Jean-Marc Legrand leads a multi-skilled team. Olivier Meslay, curator at the Louvre, is responsible for the scientific and cultural project, and more specifically for the design of the inaugural exhibitions at the Louvre-Lens. Moreover, Françoise Feger is in charge of public's reception. Major project leader Katia Lamy is following the progress of the architectural project, in close collaboration with the Regional Council (the contracting authority). Since January 2007, Stéphane Malfettes, film programmer for the Louvre Auditorium, has devoted his time to the future grand auditorium at the Louvre-Lens, called "La Scène". Anne Carpentier's mission is to raise support for the Louvre-Lens. Two scientific and technical collaborators, Audrey Bodéré and Anne-Sophie Caron, are also responsible for the scientific project, the latter being more specifically in charge of coordination, planning and communication. Finally, Line Massart is in charge of secretarial affairs and project archives.
In addition to bilateral meetings between the teams from the Regional Council and the Louvre, the partners attend a monthly technical committee meeting. This committee, under the authority of the project's decision-making bodies (the Musée du Louvre, the Direction des Musées de France, and local authority executives), is responsible for monitoring the development of every aspect of the project. It brings together the representatives of the Regional Council and the Louvre, but also the Sub-Prefect of Lens (Isabelle Pétonnet), the regional director of cultural affairs (Véronique Chatenay-Dolto, and the heads (or their representatives) of the local authorities (Eric Delzant for the Pas-de-Calais department, Serge Kuzniak for the Lens-Liévin urban community, Carole Bogaert for Lens city council).
