A view of the Louvre-Lens from Arras

On November 21, 2008, Arras city council organized a debate in the prestigious setting of the Palais Saint-Vaast (home to the city's fine arts museum); the theme for discussion was "The Perspectives of the Louvre-Lens."

The participants (local councilors, key cultural and economic players) dealt with questions concerning new partnerships, communication strategy, facilities for visitors to the Nord-Pas de Calais region, and the implementation of the law on sponsorship. The two round tables raised many questions about the project, and pinpointed the challenges ahead for the Arras area, if it is to reap the full benefit of the arrival of the new museum.

The session was filmed and can be seen on Arras Web TV
