The Louvre-Lens tour guides are all enthusiasts who hold a masters in art history, history of science or heritage tourism.
Independent tours with external guides
- €100 per group of 25 people for the Galerie du Temps
- €100 per group of 25 people + €9 additional admission fee for the temporary exhibition
These rates include authorisation for the guide to speak.
The guide is admitted free of charge on presentation of his or her professional accreditation.
Booking is compulsory at least 3 weeks before the date of the visit,
by phone on +33 (0)3 21 18 63 21, Monday to Friday, from 9:30am to à 12:30pm and 2pm to 5pm.
Booking is effective once the signed confirmation of the visit has been received, at the latest 21 days before coming to the museum.
Lens can be reached via the A21 motorway, which is linked to motorways A1 – E17 (Lille–Paris) and A26 – E15 (Calais–Reims).
Free parking:
Louvre-Lens car park (or Paul Bert car park), rue Paul Bert in Lens: 232 spaces, including four disabled spaces, 5-minute walk from the museum.
Drop-off point:
Disabled people are strongly advised to use the disabled car park by the drop-off point (via the rue Paul Bert in Lens).
Louvre-Lens car park (or Jean Jaurès car park), 4 rue du Dr Piette in Liévin:
300 spaces, 10-minute walk from the museum.
Note: the Jean Jaurès car park is only open during park opening hours.
La Scène car park (via the rue Paul Bert, opposite the restaurant Chez Cathy): 60 spaces.
Opens one hour before each performance at the museum.
TGV high-speed train direct from Paris in 1 hr 8 min.
Lens station is served by local TER trains from the region’s main towns.
Tip
Take a TER train using the Pass Transport Louvre-Lens, entitling you to 50% off a return ticket and admission to the temporary exhibition for €8 instead of €10 (valid for trains from stations in the Hauts-de-France region; go to the ticket desk of the station you are leaving from to take advantage of this offer).
GETTING TO THE MUSEUM FROM THE STATION ?
ROUTE 41 BUS :
Get off at the ‘Louvre-Lens’ stop, rue Paul Bert (200 metres from the museum by foot).
This stop is recommended for people prone to tiredness and suffering from reduced mobility.
It is located near the Hôtel Louvre-Lens.
Route 41 links the museum to Lens station, every hour or half hour.
BY BUS, WITH BULLE 1 :
Get off at the ‘Parc Louvre-Lens’ stop, rue Georges Bernanos. This stop is located at the entrance to the park, 600 metres from the museum by foot.
The path through the park is accessible for disabled people, although they are recommended to use route 41.
Bulle 1 links the museum to Lens station, every 8 minutes.
⚠️WARNING:
It is not recommended to get off at the ‘Liévin Louvre-Lens’ stop, which is 1 km from the museum.
It is advisable to buy a ticket before boarding the bus.
The shuttle that used to link the station and the museum has been replaced by route 41 and Bulle 1.
Tadao, the Lens-Liévin, Hénin-Carvin and Béthune-Bruay bus network, serves the museum.
